For the 2018 Invictus Games, GPJ produced the Opening Ceremony at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt and Closing Ceremony at Qudos Bank Arena.
The Invictus Games are a sporting event like no other, established to support, celebrate and honour wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women. We placed their unique needs at the heart of the events to drive every element of the ceremonies.
We designed an inclusive event, complete with accessibility ramps on boomerang-shaped stages, to ensure every person had an equal experience of the ceremonies.
The Opening Ceremony attracted a sell-out crowd of 4,000 people, with the national broadcast reaching 3.9 million people across five capital cities and an anticipated global broadcast audience of 60 million people.
