Gamification drives employee engagement. 

At their annual Optus KickStart sales conference, Optus wanted to harness its thriving competitive culture to unify staff around its core messages of innovation, high-performance and resilience. Gamification incentivised and rewarded employees for participating in activities and attending key presentations at the event.  

GPJ created and launched an integrated mobile app and enabled an onsite NFC network to allow delegates to select which engagements to attend, based on relevancy and the rewards they would receive. All staff participation was tracked and analysed, along with sponsor engagements and interactions. 

The mobile app received 1,783 downloads, with 62% of the more than 2,000 delegates actively participating and workshops operated at 92.5% capacity. Most significantly, the overall KickStart experience received an 8.23 rating (on a scale of 1 to 10), with 76% ranking the experience 8 or higher.
