Bringing people together in a brave new world

When it comes to bringing together a large, national company with thousands of employees in the midst of a pandemic, nothing is certain. Optus and GPJ set about delivering a COVID-safe event across multiple cities that would bring together both corporate and frontline employees and connect them to the 2022 company strategy, purpose and vision.  

Together with optimism, flexibility and agility – we seamlessly delivered a first-of-its-kind 2 hour and 14-minute non-stop live national broadcast to 6 live cross locations, and on top of that watch party events in 5 states for in-person attendees.

It was no small task, but our collaborative approach and can-do attitude allowed us to smash our KPIs and bring a huge organisation together in an all engaging true live hybrid format for the amazing people of Optus. With a 90-person crew, a 45-page show run, 14 presenters, 12 cameras and 58 support staff, the event was a massive production and one that required a seamless experience to be truly effective.

The event was an enormous success with outstanding results

  • 1,253 tuning into the live stream online
  • 881 competition entries
  • 77% of Optus Employees said the event exceeded expectations
  • 68+ total social posts garnered 6420 reactions and 248 comments.
